I’ve been posting things at least once a day on WV Cycling’s Facebook page. If you are the kind of person who wants to vicariously indulge in everything wvcycling, then this will be for you! I’ve also been doing a bumpersticker contest where people can win one of my new bumperstickers by correctly naming the location of which I took a photo of. So far, Michael Martin and Jared Yates have won one!

Second day of the Philippi/Moe’s weekend, and it was hot! Not only was it ‘temperature hot, but it was also one of the more active races this town has seen in a while. Thad’s course had only praise spoken about it; everyone seemed to be enjoying the town, and the company of cyclists abound, and people were excited to come back next year in 2011!

I was fortunate enough to get to the top of the course before the race started, and worked my way down, shooting video the entire way.

After the race, I went around, asking riders and spectators alike, what they thought of the race, the town, and overall questions about cycling in West Virginia. Everyone was very supportive and love what is going on in the area.

I saw more people  from the Western Maryland Wheelmen, and PGH Racing, these guys are everywhere. Joey Riddle, and the whole JBS squad was out in their attire, and of course tons of Morgantownians/WVU cycling peeps were racing. Good times.

Went to Philippi, WV today and tried to get some coverage on the Barbour DeTour. End results? I was schooled by Gunnar Shogren on digital camcorders; wearing bike shorts instead of bringing a change of clothes, and the history of the local races in Philippi. Great times. I was also fortunate enough to meet up with a few of the pghracing guys who are a blast to talk to. If you live in West Virginia, I suggest to get to Philippi next time they have a race! In Fact, WVMBA #6 is tomorrow! Hope to see you there!

All in all, there were racers from at least four or five states other than WV, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I’m excited for the kind of liveliness that has been seen in this year’s race series!
