The sun has been out for two days straight. This is making me want to go out for a road ride desperately. Road conditions are halting me from taking on mile after mile; so I must go back to the preseason checklist of drudgery.
Today, my job will be to check and patch eleven tubes from last season; ten 18-23c, and one 29’er mtb tube.
Being a broke collegiate graduate (my old blog was “Cycling on a Collegiate Budget“), I almost have to patch my tubes and use them again. At $6 a pop, that kind of money adds up fast. $60 is a new rear derailleur (on sale) if I break one, or a new tire or something else; you get the idea.
I’m hoping not to take more than an hour or so with the bucket of water, pump, rubber cement and patches tomorrow. Wish me luck.
